I have been writing about wine and drinks in Australia for 30 years. As well as regular columns for the three outlets below, I contribute to a number of other publications including Organic Gardener. Other work includes nineteen years as wine columnist for The Weekend Australian, longtime contributing editor to the ground breaking and much-missed magazine, Divine Food and Wine, and articles for a diverse range of publications from The World of Fine Wine to Griffith Review, Decanter to Fool. My journalism has been recognised with a number of awards including Wine Communicator of the Year at the 2018 Wine Communicators of Australia Awards.

Australian Financial Review

I write a weekly column for the Fin Review’s weekend Life & Leisure section, and a monthly column in the AFR Magazine, covering all things drinks, from the latest trends in wine to the finest single malts, from wild-fermented beer to small-batch vermouth.

Gourmet Traveller

From 2004-2020 I wrote about wine and drinks for Gourmet Traveller Magazine. As well as a monthly column, I reviewed the wine lists for the annual Restaurant Guide, and recommended wine and drinks matches for recipes.
